Organizational Sustainability Plan

November 2017

The Organizational Sustainability Plan (OSP) is a collaborative study focused on improving the effectiveness and sustainability of school facilities management. The scope covers operations and maintenance staffing and budgeting, as well as facilities planning in the four Insular Areas. The strategies and policies included in this report were selected based on stakeholder input, including observations from Insular ABCs project managers that are embedded in the territories, working alongside procurement officers, public school administrators, and facilities managers and staff. The goal of this Organizational Sustainability Plan is to provide a menu of resources for facility managers and policymakers in the Insular Areas and to establish a framework for year over year improvement.

Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Handbook

The purpose of this guidebook is to empower school administrators, maintenance staff , teachers, and community members with information about how school facilities are related to IEQ. Public schools in a tropical environment encounter challenges that are unique among public schools in the continental US. This guidebook offers potential strategies to address those unique challenges.

School Facility Planning Workshop

July 2015

The ABCs Team conducted workshops focused on the school facility master planning process (e.g., establishing a local policy framework, long range plan, short range implementation strategy, CIP plans and facility standards). The workshops were highly interactive with various outputs including records of input gathered during working sessions, goals and action recommendations from facilitator notes and post-it-note boards, and mapping of growth areas and capacity notes available in the Workshop report.

Energy Audit Implementation Plan

We are currently in the process of developing an energy audit implementation plan as part of our Phase 3 scope of services for the insular schools. This memo provides an update on this activity.
